Why Aluminium?

Aluminium has been used in transport with success in Europe since 1930 and has proved to have similar wear-resistant characteristics as steel. The specific weight of aluminium (2.7g/cm3) is ⅓ of that of steel. The following are the advantages of aluminium:

  • In the transport industry, aluminium allows clients for higher profit margins due to the substantial increase in legal payload;
  • Reduced fuel consumption;
  • It is corrosion resistant and therefore does not need to be painted (environmental hazard);
  • Lightweight yet not sacrificing wear resistance; and
  • 75% of the aluminium produced since it was discovered is still in use today
  • Recycling aluminium saves 90-95% of the energy needed to make aluminium from ore.
  • Aluminium is green.
  • Maximum payload
